Gallier Hall; New Orleans, Louisiana, United States; SEE BACK; IX-NO-11; GALLIER HALL, New Orleans--Built in 1850, this was the solid old citadel of city government for 108 years, until 1958. It is an excellent example of Greek Revival architecture and was designed by the famous New Orleans architect, James Gallier, Sr. Granite steps at the entrance to the three-story structure lead between a double row of pillars of the portico. Gallier Hall is located at 543 St. Charles Avenue and is open to the public every weekday.; 24087
