Last Supper

Date
1583
Work Type

This painting is located on the right hand side of the high altar. It dominates the wall it hangs on, and the background of the painting depicts the interior courtyard of the Ducal Palace. A portion of the Scala Foscari is also shown, which was knocked down in the early 17th century. It is unclear whether the artworks' placement around the church is original, aside from the altar pieces, which are in situ. The majority of architecture dates from the restorations and renovations of the 18th century.
