Dedicated to Vishnu.The name "Samre" refers to an ethnic group of people who come from the region at the base of Phnom Kulen. Banteay Samre is one of the most complete complexes at Angkor. The French restored the monument by method of anastylosis, where reconstruction is done using the original tools and methods.
