Dibni Su, one of the tributaries of the Tigris, emerges at the end of this 1018m-long tunnel. Assyrian kings Tiglath-pileser I (lower relief) and Shalmaneser III (upper relief), in the early eleventh and mid-ninth centuries BCE respectively, visited this source of the Tigris river repeatedly.
