SEE BACK; The Mount Lebanon Baptist Church was built in 1837. Slave labor was used to construct the church pews, which have dividers that separate males and females. The spartan interior is graced with a crystal chandelier from the home of William C. C. Claiborne, the first American governor of Louisiana. The church is on La. 154 in Mt. Lebanon, Louisiana.; Photography by the LOUISIANA OFFICE OF TOURISM.
