Evergreen Plantation; Edgar, Louisiana, United States; SEE BACK; X-E-1; Evergreen Plantation, the most complete plantation grouping in Louisiana, lies just a few miles past Edgar on the west bank of the River Road. It retains all its accessory buildings, such as the old office, the overseer's cottage, and the plantation kitchen. Evergreen features a curving double stairway and formal gardens which can be seen through the high ornate gates at the front of the grounds.; 24075
