Notes
SEE BACK; IX-NO-41; LONGUE VUE GARDENS, New Orleans, one of America's great city estates, is a garden of many personalities, encompassing the magnificence of Spain's Alhambra, the perfection of formal English terraces, and the tranquility of a pastoral wood. Longue Vue is a series of small cloistered gardens around a dominant Spanish Court. Geometric patterns of boxwood, melodic fountains, statuary, and containers of flowers used with artistry and restraint surround an emerald greensward that reminds one of Continental gardens.
