Notes: Right: Emukai House, built between the late 17th century and the early 18th century. It is a style of steep-sloped roof style house called Gassho Zukuri. It is from a village in the Toyama Prefecture where snowfall was heavy, hence the sharply inclined roof. Left: Yamada House, built in the early 18th century in Katsura Village in Toyama Prefecture. It is also a Gassho Zukuri style house.
