First stone bridge in Rome, started ca. 179 BCE, finished 142 BCE. Restored for the first time in 12 BCE by Augustus; damaged in 1230 and rebuilt by Pope Gregory XI; damaged by flood in 1557 but again rebuilt by Pope Gregory XIII; damaged by floods in 1575 and 1598 and later remained abandoned.
