Built over the home of two Roman soldiers martyred under Julian in 362. Damaged several times over the centuries and restored in 9th and 11th century when the Campanile was built. A series of ancient roman houses were found in 1887, dated from 1st-4th century AD. Exterior buttresses connected to the church date from 13th and 14th centuries.
