The building originally dates to 13th century, when in 1258 the Teutonic monastery was built; Scuola S.S. Trinità founded in 1418 in the existing church, later acquiring attached areas of the Salute island; Somaschi Fathers bought the seminary area in 1613 and altered the whole complex until 1696 (Baldassarre Longhena built the Salute Church in 1631 and the palace in 1671); altered and restored in 19th century
