Gannat, Église Sainte-Croix

Parish of the former diocese of Clermont in the gift of the abbot of S-Austremoine of Issoire. The church is made up of six aisled bays terminated by a five-sided hemicycle with ambulatory and radiating chapels. The exterior walls of the ambulatory, two of the radiating chapels and the north transept belong to the late-12th century. The nave belongs to the mid-to-later 13th century (compare the cathedral of Clermont-Ferrand) and the choir was modified and sundry chapels added in Late Gothic.
